Lutterworth ChairLink Launched
As an addition to the already popular
Lutterworth
VillageLink
which was formally inaugurated in February, Community Minibuses and the
Social Car Scheme, Lutterworth Community Transport has now taken
delivery of a Wheelchair Accessible Car. The service will assist those
in Lutterworth and the surrounding rural communities and those who need
to travel between these communities and further afield but who are
currently restricted by the lack of suitable transport. Funding for the
project has been provided by The Countryside Agency, Welland
Partnership, Leicestershire County Council and Lutterworth Volunteer
Centre. Additionally, LCC is providing up to £6,000 per annum towards
the cost of running the vehicle. Chairlink will be driven both by
professional and volunteer drivers and, following a trial period, may
also be made available for weekend and evening hire by approved and
qualified drivers.
