Citizens Advice Bureau

Lutterworth & District Citizens Advice Bureau was founded by local people in 1985 and is a registered charity with a Trustee Board. The Bureau is delighted to be part of the OneStopShop at Wycliffe House, Lutterworth, working alongside other voluntary agencies in the district.

Lutterworth Citizens Advice Bureau provides free, confidential, independent and impartial advice and information to anyone on any subject, including housing, employment, debt, social security benefits, discrimination, legal problems, immigration and nationality, tax, consumer rights, family and personal issues and local information.

We also collect (anonymously) evidence of client’s difficulties with such things as benefits agencies administration, pressure selling to change gas and electricity suppliers, the lack of local legal resources, harassment by creditors, rogue traders, employers’ failure to pay what they owe, and much more. This information enables Citizens Advice nationally to achieve real change and to conduct effective lobbying.

Lutterworth Citizens Advice Bureau has four part-time paid staff, a Manager, Deputy Manager, Money Advice Worker and Guidance Tutor. We also have around seventeen unpaid volunteers working in the bureau to whom we are indebted. At present, these consist of eleven fully trained advisors, three trainees and three administration staff who together provide almost ninety hours of voluntary assistance per week. New volunteers are always welcome.

In August 2001, Lutterworth CAB was awarded the Quality Mark by the Legal Services Commission and we are listed in the Community Legal Services Directory.

Our opening hours are shown above. Home visits can be arranged for housebound clients.
